Sausage Gravy

Directions
Ingredients
  1. Brown breakfast sausage in a large skillet (cast iron is best) over medium high heat.
  2. When sausage is no longer pink, remove from skillet using a slotted spoon. Set aside.
  3. lower heat and add butter to skillet with existing leftover sausage grease.
  4. When butter is melted add flour and cook until slightly brown and flour flavor is cooked out.
  5. Add milk and stir to get to desired consistency and then add cooked sausage back into the skillet. Add milk if necessary to thin out gravy.
  6. Serve immediately over buttermilk biscuits or biscuits of your choice.

Notes:

depending on flavor of the breakfast sausage, you can add salt, pepper and other spices to final product to suit your tastes
